"Classes Every Day - Like High School in a Way!"

Wed, 09/07/2011 - 01:00

This NYU Law Revue 2008 music video - "Barbri Girl" - will provide some comic relief for a couple of minutes. By way of satire, though, it does a pretty good job of making it clear where your head ought not to be if you're practicing on becoming the kind of lawyer YOU would hire if your personal liberty were at stake.  Enjoy!

Understanding Law School from Day One

Tue, 08/02/2011 - 03:15

Prosecutor Amanda Rodriguez helps you “get your head around this whole law school idea.”

It’s all about that time before class. And the moments “in-between” classes.

“Imagine,” she tells us, “that you are the attorney.”  She does a great job on this video … watch it before or during your Orientation program.

Competive? Law School?

Sun, 05/08/2011 - 17:08

In this brief excerpt from "The Trials of Law School DVD," you'll get a taste of what the competition is like in law school.  Some law students feel it intensely, while others are oblivious to it.  If you haven't begun law school yet, you'll find the comments from these professors enlightening.

"They've all had success before they come here," one professor explains.

Another tells us that, "The students come here stressed already, with this unhealthy feeling that they must succeed and be the very best."

"You're surrounded by people who are extremely good ... sharp and motivated ... and you worry, 'Can I compete at that level?'"  And it's true ... when you sit in the law school classroom, remember that you're sitting among the people who were accepted into the law school (duh), therefore, for maybe the first time in your academic career, you are in a room filled with peers.  Whoa!
